Collected together with supporting textual evidence in the following body of work is an exploration of the archival, documentary, illustrative, and interpretive aspects of the photographic medium in relation to my personal history. Throughout this investigation I have engaged a variety of practices in order to visualize my research and discoveries. Utilizing various areas of photographic study has allowed me to gain a considered understanding of my heritage and familial relations, as well as provided me the opportunity to develop comprehension and critical practice of the medium.
