While visiting a friend, I noticed that her neighbor had a well-groomed yard with interesting decorations. After I took a few photographs, an old African-American man emerged to see what we were up to. I explained that I am a photographer, and showed him some images I happened to have with myself. Wary of strangers, he took a minute to inspect my work. Johnny then introduced himself and explained he was an amateur decorator, and had been working on his collection for years. He invited us in to see for ourselves.
